Alexandra Breede is a Canadian/German producer working in the United Kingdom.

 

She has produced four films with Open Palm Films: MAKING NOISE QUIETLY, directed by company founder Dominic Dromgoole, POND LIFE, directed by Bill Buckhurst, and BENJAMIN written and directed by Simon Amstell, all of which were distributed by Verve Pictures in the UK.

 

She also produced WASTELAND, directed by Lisa Mulcahy. Alexandra served as Head of Production at Open Palm from 2016 to May 2018.

 

Prior to joining Open Palm, Alexandra worked at the Globe Theatre where she associate produced the COMPLETE WALK short film project, which consisted of 37 short films by 15 directors starring 72 different actors. The project was created to celebrate Shakespeare’s 400th Birthday.

 

Alexandra is a graduate of the National Film and Television school where she produced a number of short films, including GROUP B, which was nominated for a Student Academy Award and won the RTS Award for Graduate Fiction.

 

She also works as a freelance line producer with credits including DEAD SHOT starring Felicity Jones and Mark Strong (Sky Studio - 2023), I CAME BY starring George McKay and Hugh Bonneville (Netflix- 2022), FISHERMAN’S FRIENDS: ONE AND ALL (2022) starring James Purefoy, THE WAR BELOW (Netflix - 2021) and NOCTURNAL (2019) starring Cosmo Jarvis.

Jacob Thomas is a BIFA winning producer and Sundance Producer’s Summit Fellow. His 2020 fiction feature, PERFECT 10  won the Discovery award at the BIFAs and writer director Eva Riley two Scottish BAFTA nominations.

 

Jacob graduated with an MA in producing from the National Film and Television School in 2015. Here he developed and produced NORTH, starring Barry Keoghan, which was long listed for a student Academy Award and won Best Short at Galway Film Fleadh. He also produced the animated short SEA CHILD which won many awards including at the Cut Out Film Festival in Mexico City, and the documentary short TERRITORY, directed by Eleanor Mortimer, which screened in competition at Sundance and won best short documentary at Hot Docs.

 

Jacob has participated in the iFeatures and MicroWave feature development schemes, and been selected for documentary development through Sundance and the Redford Foundation. He has mentored young filmmakers through the Random Acts ‘First Acts’ short film programme and has taught producing at London Film School and is currently teaching at London Film Academy. Originally from New Zealand, Jacob completed film theory and law degrees at the University of Auckland before moving to the UK.
